How To Fire The M72 Rocket Launcher

The M-72 LAW (Light Anti Tank Weapon) is a one shot disposable, portable rocket launcher. It fires a 66 mm unguided rocket with a maximum effective range of 1000 meters (3'300 feet)

To fire the M-72 first remove the grenade like pin located on the rear of the rocket launcher.

-Once this is out pop off both the front and read covers and place them under one of your feet. (You don't want loose nearby when you fire this)

-Once the covers are off, grad the rocket with both hands, and with a quick yank extended the rocket tube.

-With the rocket tube extended both the front and rear sights will pop up.

-On the top of the rocket tube is a safety pull tab, to arm the rocket simply pull the tab out until you hear a clicking noise.

-Now place the rocket over your shoulder, always check behind you before firing because rocket weapons have whats called a "back blast" area. This is the area in which the exhaust from the rocket will shoot out, on the M-72 the danger radius for the back blast is about 30 meters.

-Once your back blast is clear your safe to fire, simple push down on the large black rubber button to fire. Once the rocket has fired the tube is now junk.

This weapon is pretty straightforward, it was designed to be virtually dummy proof, and even has the firing instructions written along the side of the rocket tube. When firing the M-72 you'll find it doesn't have the traditional "kick" that a rifle would have. With the rocket firing out the front, and the exhaust exiting the rear there is almost no recoil. This weapon is virtually useless against almost any form of modern armour (tanks). Anything newer then a Soviet T54-55 is not going to be badly damaged from the M-72. However it is leather against light skinned vehicles and light bunkers.
